C&J’s Fall Wedding at Farm Kitchen

For Bainbridge-Island locals James & Caroline, few things were more important in their wedding planning journey than finding the right venue. Having grown up on Bainbridge Island, the two were fixated on finding an outdoor wedding venue that captured their shared love of natural Pacific Northwest landscapes. From the moment they visited Farm Kitchen, they knew it was a perfect outdoor wedding venue to celebrate their special day.

About Farm Kitchen

Located just a short ferry ride from Seattle in Poulsbo, Washington, Farm Kitchen is a picturesque venue on an 8-acre working produce and flower farm which adds to the authenticity and beauty of the setting. In 2022, Farm Kitchen was updated to provide a modern and elegant wedding setting while preserving the property's historic nature. The main farm building was painted white, giving it a fresh and clean look, and the Douglas Fir pavilion added to the main event barn allows for a perfect place for hosting a dinner and reception.

Getting Ready

In addition to the many lovely indoor and outdoor spaces, Farm Kitchen also offers a beautiful guesthouse on the property, providing the perfect place for the bride and her bridal party to relax and get ready before the big day. Across the property, the groom and groomsmen enjoyed the rustic, vintage feel of the hay barn where they relaxed and got ready completely hidden from the bride.

The Ceremony

The couple chose to have their ceremony in the orchard which comfortably fit 140 guests. Florist Britlyn Simone designed all floral elements for the event with breathtaking aisle and arch arrangements made of unique combinations of green and white blooms. They exchanged vows under a beautiful English Walnut tree, which is the centerpiece of the orchard and provided ample shade for guests, making it the perfect spot for an outdoor ceremony. The bright fall colors of Farm Kitchen in mid-September added a special touch of beauty to the already stunning setting. Beyond the orchard, guests were greeted with an idyllic landscape of vibrant fall flowers, including dahlias, snapdragons, sunflowers, and lavender.

Cocktail Hour

As they moved into the cocktail hour, they were surprised with a visit to Farm Kitchen's best-kept secret, the Hidden Cedar Grove. This secluded and intimate spot on the property was nestled amongst tall cedar trees and proved to be a favorite among guests. They sipped on signature cocktails, mingled with friends and family, and enjoyed the natural beauty of the hidden cedar grove.

Dinner & Reception

After cocktail hour, guests were escorted to the beautiful covered pavilion for dinner and reception. The couple chose a family-style dinner catered by Seattle-based Ravishing Radish, which featured locally sourced ingredients and a variety of delicious and seasonal dishes. For dessert, they opted for a non-traditional wedding cake from Milk Bar, which perfectly matched their playful spirit.

Party Time!

After dinner and their first dance as a married couple, the couple invited guests to dance the night away in the Garden Room. This indoor space is located just inside the covered Pavilion and Patio, and it provided the perfect setting for the after-party. Throughout the night, guests were able to explore the farm and take in the natural beauty of the setting.

A Note From The Bride

“Farm Kitchen is a truly unique and special venue that is perfect for couples looking for a modern and elegant outdoor farm venue for their wedding. The welcoming nature and genuine kindness of the Farm Kitchen team ensured that every single guest will remember the special day for years to come. Thank you Farm Kitchen for making my wedding dreams come true!”
